my new favorite shoes

I saw these shoes on Oh Joy! a long time ago and finally caved and got them from endless. They are SO cute - the stripes and the cute silvery flower thing make them so summery. They were only $24.99 and I think I threw a coupon code in there too so they were really cheap.

I can't wait to wear them. They're a little too casual for work but I'll wear them tonight when we go to see Inception (so excited to see it!).

What do you want?

I'm trying to decide what to give away for my 100th post. Please comment below with what would you want to win. (Note I had to remove the poll because it wasn't working. Sorry!)

1. Dior Show Mascara - http://bit.ly/dckac7

2. Chanel Glossimer Lip Gloss - http://bit.ly/cxee1P

3. $25 Gift Certificate to somewhere (F21, H&M, Nordstroms, whatever)

4. None of the above - please suggest something in the $20-$25 range :)

I picked two of my favorite beauty items so its not totally random. Also, I am not sponsored by any of these products (or anyone ha). If you win, it's just a gift from me to you. :)

Random side note - I am SO sick of getting annoying spam comments! Asian letter character person/robot who keeps leaving spam comments is driving me nuts! How do I get rid of them?

Mumford and Sons

I know this has been a lot of music posts in a row but I recently discovered the band Mumford and Sons and love their stuff! Credit, as per usual, goes to my husband who always finds the best music. They are British and have a folk/rock sound with sweet lyrics and a passionate vibe to their music.

In other news, I'm coming up on my 100th post and I'm thinking about doing a give away of sorts. I know 100 measly posts, but I still feel its a milestone. Any suggestions for something you'd like to win in a giveaway thats in the $20-30 range?

My heart keeps beating like a hammer...

I just heard the song "Help I'm Alive" on the radio the other day and cannot stop listening to it. Apparently I'm slow to jump on the Metric bandwagon because my husband has loved them for a long time (they are a Canadian Indie band so its not a surprise).

Happy weekend!

27 b/6

I discovered one of the most hilarious blogs last week called 27 b/6 (thanks Noopur). It is so snarky, cynical, sarcastic and awesome.

Some of my favorites include Simon's Pie Chart, Missing Missy, and Roz loves Adelaid. Most of the posts are too long to include here so just click on the links above to read them yourself.

Some short funny clips from the blog (although the three links above are the best)

Riddick

While watching the movie 'Chronicles of Riddick' together last night, my offspring stated that he wished Riddick was his dad. When I asked why, he replied that Riddick is good looking, has muscles and is a good fighter. I told him that I wished Matthew (his arch-enemy at school) was my son because he is better at maths and has cool hair.
I don't even understand why the first email started but its awesome. See here for entire post on his response to hate mail.

Dear Dick,
Thankyou for your recommendation. I am currently writing a television script that I think you would be perfect for, it features a genius of superior wit and intellect who uses his uncanny abilities to protect the innocent. Aided by his loyal pet, masturbating monkey, he endeavors to right wrongs and solve crimes. At the end of each episode he will leave us with a profound, thought provoking and politically correct statement such as "don't leave your pet in the car with the windows up" or "fuck you retard wydont you shut up".
An important part of the character development as I see it, would be the developing relationship between yourself and masturbating monkey. The show will be titled 'Monkey Dick' (a combination of private dick and the pet monkey, similar to 'canine cop') and I do hope you will make yourself available for this opportunity.
Regards, David.
Awesome pie chart from the Simon post:

I was cracking up last week while I was on my couch dying from some kind of cold + pink eye combination. Who gets pink eye as an adult? I know I'm gross.
